I have
figured out why Apple is so successful, it’s obvious really, they deliver. The
i-phone, i-pad and all other “i” products may not be the best products on the
market, they may not have the best specs, they may not be the best value for
money, what they are, is available.
When apple
are going to launch a product, they announce a couple of weeks before the press
conference that the press conference is coming, then the rumour mill starts,
and it would not surprise me if they start half of them, I would if it was me,
then they have a presentation, launch a product, tell everyone the price, where
it will be available, and when. Then its there on the day they say, really the
thing they always seem to get wrong is they under estimate their own success
and don’t have enough available for launch day and put a few noses out as some
people may have to wait a few days or weeks to get their hands on their shiny
new product.
So why the
blog we all know Apple do this and have the routine down to a tee. Well some
manufacturers (ASUS) could do with taking a look at this process to see if they
can learn from it. About four months ago ASUS showed off the new Padfone, wow
this is all the product I need, the specs are great, the concept is genius one
product and I can get rid of my phone, tablet and laptop and just use one.
But this was
just a concept we would need to wait for the official launch which happened
last month at the mobile conference in Barcelona in which all Apples
competitors showed off the next generation in technology, showing off quad core
processors and massive shiny screens, more computer power than a shuttle
mission in the palm of your hand, wow we all basked in the amazement of the
show.
Now a month
later I fancy buying one of these products, oh but hang on I can’t, as the
company who makes them has not sorted a price for the product or a distribution
network to get it to me, they can’t even give me an approximate date. And you
wonder why Apple are number one, not because they produce the best at the best
price, but purely because they put the products in our hands when we want them.
