U Turns – Unwanted Twists Undermined Re-winding New Scenarios

Well the government is at it again, another U turn from the hard hitting policies designed to help the economy and give us some stability in these uncertain times. Oh hang on not one but three U-turns this week and that is 43 U-turns so far since they took office or if you count the no U turn policy it takes it to 44. So we have elected another leader who talks the talk but when it comes to action his nether region clambers back inside to hide.

All these U-turns really annoy and frustrate me personally as when Cameron and the other one took control of running our country I thought this might be good, a lot of changes designed to allegedly take us though the next few years with a little pain but come out the other side smelling of roses, on top again. But what has really happened is a time line was mapped out and as each policy was due to take effect a group of do gooders affected by the changes, have lobbied the chancellor and the changes have been turned, or as the government would say tweaked.

So how can we trust a government who cannot make policies and follow them through, maybe we need not a change in power but a change in the way policies are created in the first place, maybe the fault is not with making policies but by not thinking them through properly in the first place and this results in what looks like cowardly management. Maybe if instead of a couple of politicians who lets be fair have no idea what real life is we ask the people whom the policy will effect, chances are they may have better more efficient ways for the government and the country to save money.

Perhaps if we stopped spending money on pointless projects that the majority of people don’t want or care about, for instance the high speed rail line, and use the money to create jobs, and if you think there is no work to be done then you also must be a rich person living in a nice area with no concept of real life. The money bring “invested in the high speed rail line would hire an army of people to work on local projects, cleaning up our streets and generally making life that little bit nicer, in turn they would pay tax rather than take hand-outs, and give some self-respect back into broken communities.

In conclusion a government making so many U-turns is portrayed as weak and untrustworthy, also shows they were elected under false pretences. Policies should not be made by rich politicians anymore, it’s time for a real change. And finally stop wasting my money on pointless expensive projects that help no-one.
