Is it just me or has formula one lost its way recently, this used to be the platform where all new car technology came from but now with all the restrictions and rules the only innovations seen are specific to formula one and would never make it to a road car.
What I propose to re-introduce innovation back into this sport is a no holds barred series in which the engineers are given a specific space, let’s say 1 meter wide by two meters long and 1 meter tall, to put as much technology as they can to make the car go round the track in the quickest possible time, also from a safety perspective let’s put the driver in the pits controlling the car remotely.
You just know the engineers would have so much more fun coming up with new creative ways of making the car go round the track and as a spectator and lover of technology and science I would like to see what ideas they come up with.
To make the competition fair we could also add a budget constraint so the technologies developed are not out of the reach of the ordinary person also this would be a great platform for budding engineers to show off what crazy ideas they have buzzing in there heads.
